Medvednica
Medvednica is an excellent place to go hiking in Zagreb. It is the park of nature, with its highest peak Sljeme (1033m). It is reachable on foot by marked paths and trails, and if you are walking in the moderate pace you can reach the top in about two hours. There are more tha few objects to eat and drink so you dont have to wory about that. By spending time and walkin down the marked trails with tree signs, you can learn about more than 1000 plants varieties. In the winter Sljeme is skiers destination where their first steps on skies were made by our sports champions Janica and Ivica Kostelić. Good ski runs, snow making machines, ski lifts and cables have enabled Sljeme to become a host of the World Championship Ski race – Snow Queen Trophy. O yeah by the way ..it is the only Capitol in the world to have such an event.
Medvedgrad
It is medival fortress from the 13th century, deserted following an earthquake in 1590. Reconstruction of the fortress began at 1974. Today it simbolize a Nation's altar.
