Imeddiate loaded implants
Can we load an implant immediately after tooth extraction?
My answer is YES ! I am gonna show you from a next case how successful this procedure is, and not at all more riskier than when we wait for the bone to heal and then load the implant ( there are some exceptions when we work in the frontal region or in highly esthetic cases ). The advantages of such procedure are obvious – one procedure, one anaesthesia, one healing period and shorter recovery time.
On the first scan we can see remainings of the tooth 46, which has fractured roots and chronic inflammation undeneath, so the only solution is extraction. With usual aproach we would extract the roots and wait for three months for the wound to heal before loading implant and then wait again for three month to put the tooth on.
On thih scan you can see chronic inflammation ( small shadow ), which is a potential risk for implant loading. But today we have all sorts of different methodes and materials to overcome such problems.
On the last scan we see implant (Straumann SP 4,1 ) after 3 months from extraction and implant loading. In the procedure if needed, we add some bone suppliments or artificial bone (BoneCeramic, BioOss, ...).
It is visible that the implant is completely heald and ready for the tooth.
Remark:
From my own experience, only Straumann implants are good enough in the procedures where the situation is not ideal ( extractions wound, chronic inflammation, lack of jaw bone… )Dr. Damir Martinko
